Course Description
This course is an advanced and focused introduction to the philosophy of biology. After briefly surveying some general conceptual issues in evolutionary biology, we shall dig down into a few connected debates about the nature of biological taxonomy, the possibility of biological laws, and whether biology is in some sense an autonomous science.
